FAQs
If I tell you something will you keep it a secret?
When you report something to Open Out we will keep all the information confidential unless we believe you or someone else is at risk of serious harm. In this case we have a duty of care to inform someone. This is a standard practice amongst support services.
Will you tell the police what I have told you?
We will NOT tell the police what you have told us without your permission. Some people want help reporting an incident to the police or dealing with an existing report, in this case we will ask your permission to share information.
Will you tell anyone else about my situation?
We will NOT tell anyone else about your situation unless you give permission. Situations where this might happen could be to liaise with your housing officer, support worker or to refer you for another support service.
What happens to the information I give you?
We keep confidential records of the report you make and actions we take so that we can best help you to resolve the situation and get support. All reports are stored securely.
