Emergencies - If You're in Immediate Danger Call 999 Now!
Sometimes victims of prejudice find themselves in dangerous situations. If you are in immediate danger you should always dial 999, explain the situation to the operator and they will send police officers to you.Remember
- Dial 999
- Consider the safety of yourself, your family and those around you
- Identify and witnesses that may have seen or heard what happened
- Wait for the police to arrive, if you have to move call the police again
- DO NOT PANIC, STAY CALM, STAY ALERT!
When Should you Call 999?
- If your life is in danger
- If you believe a crime is about to be committed or has been committed and the offenders are still in the area
After you have called the police, ring friends or family to support you, and if you need further help contact a support organisation like Open Out.
