The Statistics
We've compiled some information to show how many reports are received by the Open Out Scheme and why people have contacted us.
Between the 1st of November 2009 and the 12th April 2010:
58 people have reported Hate Crime to us, of those:
25 were race related
15 were related to those with disabilities
10 were related to sexuality
6 were related to transgender identity
1 was related to faith
3 of these reports involved more than one element of prejudice
How we helped
45 people recieved face-to-face support
24 people recieved additional support or were signposted to other organisations
17 people were helped to report to the police or in their dealings with the police

Open Out takes all types of prejudice and hate crime seriously. If you or someone you know has been affected by hate crime you can report it here securely. All reports are confidential and can be made anonymously.
