Getting Involved
Open Out works closely with local organisations, charities and groups to raise awareness of Hate Crime and support victims. Across Cambridgeshire groups have become nominated Reporting Centres or Information Points with members of staff and volunteers trained by Open out to recognise Hate Crime and refer victims to the service.
Becoming an Information Point
An information Point is a location where members of the public and/or service users can access information about Hate Crime and the Open Out scheme.
If you are interested becoming an information point you will need to:
- Nominate one or more members of staff to receive Hate Crime Awareness Training
- Display Hate Crime and Open Out information in an accessible place
Becoming a Reporting Centre
Open Out reporting centres are places where victims or witnesses can report Hate crime face to face or receive information about Open Out.
If you are interested becoming a Reporting Centre you will need to:
- Nominate one or more members of staff to receive Hate Crime Awareness and Initial Report Taking training
- Display Hate Crime and Open Out information in an accessible place
- Display posters with information for service users and/or members of the public explaining how to report a Hate Crime in your Reporting Centre
